It had been a few seasons since Echo had joined the tribelands. They had worked hard in their rank and learned a lot about their newfound magicks. While some customs still felt a bit different from the life they had known as a warrior, Echo found they were finally settling into life as an Air Tribe Soldier. And yet... they couldn't shake the aching loneliness in their heart. They had abandoned their mate and left their family behind for these strange new lands. Everyday, they buried themselves in their work and Air Tribe's customs, but as they grew more familiar and felt more natural, the loneliness within the Blue-Air grew stronger. Stars shone overhead, and the soft glow of lantern light illuminated a pair of white she-cats as they lay curled together in a frosty glade. Heads pressed close together, they spoke softly, their voices murmured as they shared their past experiences. Talks of families lost, and the tantalizing idea of starting anew. Sorrow and loneliness were overshadowed by joy and hope as the Souldbonded mates spoke of their pasts; of their families. Their mingled breath swirling lout like mist in the cool night air. They discussed what it would mean to bring life into a world where kits would not have to go through what they had. A world where young ones would not have to suffer as their mothers did.
